carpentry services
One-off builds and the projects that do not fit a standard service list. If you are not sure, it is worth asking.
Odd openings, unfinished projects and one-off builds are exactly what this kind of carpentry is for. Around Havana and Quincy especially, where a lot of the housing predates any standard sizing, very little off the shelf fits and custom is often the only real option. We have finished projects other crews left behind and built pieces to fit openings nothing standard would suit.
If it is made of wood and needs to fit a specific spot, it is worth asking. We build accent walls, floating shelves, mantels and handrails, and take on the projects someone else started and did not finish. After more than 30 years, there is very little Kevin has not built at some point.
Free estimate, detailed and in writing before anything starts.
Send the form or call, and bring a photo or describe it the way you would to a neighbor. We get back to you within 24 hours.
Kevin looks at the space in person and works out the how. The questions he asks while he is there are what the estimate gets built from.
Kevin and Lil Kevin build it to fit the specific spot, whether it is an accent wall, a mantel, floating shelves or a project someone else started and did not finish.
We go through the finished piece with you before we call the job done.
Every job is different. We offer free, no-obligation estimates so you know the price before any work starts.
Older homes turn up the most, but even a newer one can hide something nobody could see at the estimate. That possibility is written into our estimates and proposals, and you sign it before anything starts. So when something does come up, the work stops, Kevin walks you through it, and it becomes a change order you approve, rather than something you find out about afterwards.

They gave us a detailed quote and kept us informed every step of the way. There were no surprises from them for hidden costs or additional fees. Everything was extremely transparent.
30+ people have reviewed Lumber Lunatics on Google, and every one of them gave five stars. Here is a sample, in their words.
Great service and attention to customer satisfaction, did a great job restoring our shed.
I had a very old shed that I started a project I could not complete, so I notified Lumber Lunatics, they came and completed my project better than expected.
It is clear that Kevin knows what he is doing. It is great to also see a father working with his son to teach him the trade!

That is what custom carpentry is for. One-off builds, odd repairs, a piece built to fit a specific spot, the things that do not have their own page. After 30 years there is not much Kevin has not built, so ask.
Yes. Bring a photo or describe it the way you would to a neighbor. Kevin works out the how, and the questions he asks while he is looking at the space are what the estimate gets built from.
Yes. Kevin is on every job. His son Lil Kevin works alongside him, and the person who prices your project is the person who builds it. There is no sales rep handing your job to a crew you have never met.
Three of us, and that is the whole company. Kevin and his son Lil Kevin are the two on site, and Amanda handles every call and inquiry. The two of them get through what a crew of four would.
No, Lumber Lunatics works on homes rather than commercial buildings.
Yes. Kevin comes out and looks at the job with you and talks through the options. He does not price it on the spot, because materials and labor have to be worked out properly, so the detailed estimate comes to you afterwards. There is no charge and no obligation.
Cash, check, zelle, and credit cards.
Yes. We provide a workmanship warranty on every project, with the specific terms spelled out in your written proposal before the work begins.
If your project needs major plumbing or electrical work, Kevin will tell you so and recommend you bring in a licensed plumber or electrician. He is not licensed for that work and he is not going to pretend otherwise. You will hear that at the estimate, not halfway through the job.
Yes, Lumber Lunatics is insured on every project.
Scheduling varies based on the scope of your project and our current workload. We will provide our current availability when we discuss your project.
