carpentry services
Custom and prebuilt cabinetry, cabinet installation, flooring and finish carpentry for your kitchen.
Many Tallahassee homes have kitchens that could benefit from a better layout, updated cabinetry or a more functional use of space. Whether you are updating an older kitchen or planning a more complete renovation, Lumber Lunatics can help create a space that looks better, works better and fits the way you use your home. From custom-built and prebuilt cabinetry to flooring, storage solutions and finish carpentry, we bring the details together with skilled workmanship at every step. We do not install countertops ourselves, but we work with a stone countertop company and can refer you to them. Kevin personally evaluates each project and works with you to determine the best options for your space, needs and budget.
Free estimate, detailed and in writing before anything starts.
Send the form or call and tell Amanda about the kitchen you have in mind. We get back to you within 24 hours.
Kevin assesses the kitchen himself and prices it properly before anything is torn out, then sends a detailed estimate. If the layout needs the sink or a circuit moved, he tells you up front and points you to a licensed plumber or electrician for that piece.
Kevin and Lil Kevin do the work themselves, from the cabinetry and flooring to the finish carpentry that ties it together, and Amanda keeps you posted.
We go through the finished kitchen with you, detail by detail, before we call the job done.
Every job is different. We offer free, no-obligation estimates so you know the price before any work starts.
Older homes turn up the most, but even a newer one can hide something nobody could see at the estimate. That possibility is written into our estimates and proposals, and you sign it before anything starts. So when something does come up, the work stops, Kevin walks you through it, and it becomes a change order you approve, rather than something you find out about afterwards.

That part is not ours. Kevin does the cabinetry, trim, tile and finish work, which is most of a kitchen. If the layout needs the sink or a circuit moved, he tells you up front and points you to a licensed plumber or electrician for that piece.
Yes. If you have picked cabinets out and they came assembled, Kevin installs them. If they arrived flat pack, he assembles them too. If the room calls for something built to its real size, he builds that instead. Tell Amanda which you are after when you call.
Yes. Kevin is on every job. His son Lil Kevin works alongside him, and the person who prices your project is the person who builds it. There is no sales rep handing your job to a crew you have never met.
Three of us, and that is the whole company. Kevin and his son Lil Kevin are the two on site, and Amanda handles every call and inquiry. The two of them get through what a crew of four would.
No, Lumber Lunatics works on homes rather than commercial buildings.
Yes. Kevin comes out and looks at the job with you and talks through the options. He does not price it on the spot, because materials and labor have to be worked out properly, so the detailed estimate comes to you afterwards. There is no charge and no obligation.
Cash, check, zelle, and credit cards.
Yes. We provide a workmanship warranty on every project, with the specific terms spelled out in your written proposal before the work begins.
If your project needs major plumbing or electrical work, Kevin will tell you so and recommend you bring in a licensed plumber or electrician. He is not licensed for that work and he is not going to pretend otherwise. You will hear that at the estimate, not halfway through the job.
Yes, Lumber Lunatics is insured on every project.
Scheduling varies based on the scope of your project and our current workload. We will provide our current availability when we discuss your project.
