Pantry shelving, wall units and storage built to the wall it is going on.
Storage built to the wall that is actually there makes a home feel calmer and more organized, with a place for everything and the full height of the room put to use. Most homes were not designed around storage in the first place. Older Tallahassee homes tend to have shallow pantries with a lot of unused wall above them, and newer homes often have larger rooms with a single wire shelf doing all the work. Either way the answer is the same, storage built to the wall, and we build it to suit how you use the space.
If your storage is not keeping up, we can build something that does. We make storage to suit the room rather than a catalog, including pull-out pantry shelving, wall units and bookcases, window seats and benches with storage underneath, and laundry, mudroom and garage walls built to hold real weight. Because it is built on site, it fits the space you actually have, including the parts that are not quite square, and it carries up the wall instead of stopping where a stock unit happens to end.
Free estimate, detailed and in writing before anything starts.
Send the form or call and tell Amanda where your storage is not keeping up. We get back to you within 24 hours.
Kevin looks at the room in person, including the dead space nobody uses, then prices it and sends a detailed estimate.
Kevin and Lil Kevin build it on site and scribe it to your walls, so it fits the space you actually have and carries up the wall instead of stopping where a stock unit would.
We go through the finished built-in with you before we call the job done.
Every job is different. We offer free, no-obligation estimates so you know the price before any work starts.
Older homes turn up the most, but even a newer one can hide something nobody could see at the estimate. That possibility is written into our estimates and proposals, and you sign it before anything starts. So when something does come up, the work stops, Kevin walks you through it, and it becomes a change order you approve, rather than something you find out about afterwards.

They gave us a detailed quote and kept us informed every step of the way. There were no surprises from them for hidden costs or additional fees. Everything was extremely transparent.
30+ people have reviewed Lumber Lunatics on Google, and every one of them gave five stars. Here is a sample, in their words.
Fantastic experience changing my pantry from the wire shelves to wood shelves. I am delighted with the work. 100% recommend.
It is clear that Kevin knows what he is doing. It is great to also see a father working with his son to teach him the trade!
This company is a father and son team that does it all! Their work is par excellent. Very professional, honest, dependable, and trustworthy.

The dead space nobody uses: the wall above a shallow pantry, an awkward alcove, the run beside a fireplace, under a stair. Kevin builds to the wall that is actually there and uses the height most storage ignores.
For fit, yes. A freestanding unit is built to approximately fit. A built-in is scribed to your walls, which are rarely straight, so it looks like it was always there and uses every inch.
Yes. Kevin is on every job. His son Lil Kevin works alongside him, and the person who prices your project is the person who builds it. There is no sales rep handing your job to a crew you have never met.
Three of us, and that is the whole company. Kevin and his son Lil Kevin are the two on site, and Amanda handles every call and inquiry. The two of them get through what a crew of four would.
No, Lumber Lunatics works on homes rather than commercial buildings.
Yes. Kevin comes out and looks at the job with you and talks through the options. He does not price it on the spot, because materials and labor have to be worked out properly, so the detailed estimate comes to you afterwards. There is no charge and no obligation.
Cash, check, zelle, and credit cards.
Yes. We provide a workmanship warranty on every project, with the specific terms spelled out in your written proposal before the work begins.
If your project needs major plumbing or electrical work, Kevin will tell you so and recommend you bring in a licensed plumber or electrician. He is not licensed for that work and he is not going to pretend otherwise. You will hear that at the estimate, not halfway through the job.
Yes, Lumber Lunatics is insured on every project.
Scheduling varies based on the scope of your project and our current workload. We will provide our current availability when we discuss your project.
