Fiber cement siding repaired, replaced or installed, trim included.
Fiber cement siding gives a home a clean exterior that holds up to the Tallahassee climate and puts an end to the repeat repairs wood tends to need. Much of the area sits under heavy tree canopy, and those shaded, humid conditions are harder on exterior wood than direct sun, so wood siding tends to show it low down first, along the bottom course, behind a downspout, or wherever a shrub has held moisture against the wall. Swapping those boards for fiber cement is the update many homeowners here choose, and it can be done as a single patch, one side of the home, or the whole exterior.
Hardie board is fiber cement rather than wood, which is why it holds up here where wood siding struggles. It does not rot, and termites do not touch it. We replace boards that have failed, cut in new sections where the damage is localized, and re-side whole walls and elevations where the wood is past saving. It does go on differently from wood, though, the board is heavier, it cuts differently, and the courses and fasteners have to be set out carefully, since one row off at the bottom carries all the way up the wall. The trim matters just as much. Corner boards, window and door casings, fascia and frieze all need to be cut and fitted cleanly, because the edges are where any shortcut would show. That is ordinary finish carpentry, the work Kevin has been doing for more than 30 years.

Send the form or call and tell Amanda whether it is a few boards, one side of the home or the whole exterior. We get back to you within 24 hours.
Kevin looks at the siding in person and works out whether a repair or a re-side is right for the wall, then sends a detailed estimate.
Kevin and Lil Kevin cut out the damaged boards and set the new courses and fasteners out carefully, since one row off at the bottom carries all the way up the wall.
Corner boards, casings, fascia and frieze are fitted cleanly to match, and we go through every detail with you before we call the job done.
Every job is different. We offer free, no-obligation estimates so you know the price before any work starts.
Older homes turn up the most, but even a newer one can hide something nobody could see at the estimate. That possibility is written into our estimates and proposals, and you sign it before anything starts. So when something does come up, the work stops, Kevin walks you through it, and it becomes a change order you approve, rather than something you find out about afterwards.

Wood siding under permanent shade stays damp and rots at the bottom course and behind the gutters, and on an older home that same board has often been replaced three or four times. Fiber cement is where people stop repeating the repair.
Both, on existing homes. Kevin repairs a failed section or re-sides the whole exterior, whichever the wall needs. He works on existing homes, not new construction.
Yes. Kevin is on every job. His son Lil Kevin works alongside him, and the person who prices your project is the person who builds it. There is no sales rep handing your job to a crew you have never met.
Three of us, and that is the whole company. Kevin and his son Lil Kevin are the two on site, and Amanda handles every call and inquiry. The two of them get through what a crew of four would.
No, Lumber Lunatics works on homes rather than commercial buildings.
Yes. Kevin comes out and looks at the job with you and talks through the options. He does not price it on the spot, because materials and labor have to be worked out properly, so the detailed estimate comes to you afterwards. There is no charge and no obligation.
Cash, check, zelle, and credit cards.
Yes. We provide a workmanship warranty on every project, with the specific terms spelled out in your written proposal before the work begins.
If your project needs major plumbing or electrical work, Kevin will tell you so and recommend you bring in a licensed plumber or electrician. He is not licensed for that work and he is not going to pretend otherwise. You will hear that at the estimate, not halfway through the job.
Yes, Lumber Lunatics is insured on every project.
Scheduling varies based on the scope of your project and our current workload. We will provide our current availability when we discuss your project.
