- something turns up once the work is underway
- you wonder whether it will pause
- whether anyone will ask you first
- and what it adds at the end
The concern is being left out of it

Baseboards, crown molding, wainscoting, and casings that make a room read as finished.
Trim is often what makes the difference. In an older home the original profiles are not always available off the shelf, so the work is carefully matching what is already there or recreating it. In a newer home it is the reverse. Builder-grade base and casing tend to be thin, and heavier trim gives the rooms a more finished look. Different homes, but the same goal, trim that suits the home.
Good trim is what makes a room feel truly finished. We install crown molding, baseboards, wainscoting, board and batten, chair and picture rail, and window and door casings. Rooms are rarely perfectly square, older ones least of all, and cutting clean, tight joints in a room that is out of square is where more than 30 years of experience shows.
Free estimate, detailed and in writing before anything starts.
Send the form or call and tell Amanda which rooms and which trim you have in mind. We get back to you within 24 hours.
Kevin looks at the room in person. In an older home he takes the existing profile off the wall so the new trim matches, then sends a detailed estimate.
Kevin and Lil Kevin install the crown, baseboard, casings and wainscoting, cutting clean, tight joints in rooms that are rarely perfectly square, then caulk and putty them.
We go through every room with you before we call the job done.
Every job is different. We offer free, no-obligation estimates so you know the price before any work starts.
A few of the projects we photographed. We do not get a picture of every job we finish.
Mixed tone boards run across an arched alcove, with a barn door built from the same stock so it disappears into the wall when it is closed. The arch is why this one had to be cut on site.

Older homes turn up the most, but even a newer one can hide something nobody could see at the estimate. That possibility is written into our estimates and proposals, and you sign it before anything starts. So when something does come up, the work stops, Kevin walks you through it, and it becomes a change order you approve, rather than something you find out about afterwards.

Yes, that is most of the work. Kevin takes the existing profile off the wall and either matches it or builds the same shape up out of separate stock. On an older home there is no catalog to order from.
Baseboard, casing around doors and windows, crown molding, wainscoting and paneling, and the finish details that make a room read as finished rather than builder grade. Kevin started out in rough framing, and trim is some of the work he loves.
Yes. Kevin is on every job. His son Lil Kevin works alongside him, and the person who prices your project is the person who builds it. There is no sales rep handing your job to a crew you have never met.
Three of us, and that is the whole company. Kevin and his son Lil Kevin are the two on site, and Amanda handles every call and inquiry. The two of them get through what a crew of four would.
No, Lumber Lunatics works on homes rather than commercial buildings.
Yes. Kevin comes out and looks at the job with you and talks through the options. He does not price it on the spot, because materials and labor have to be worked out properly, so the detailed estimate comes to you afterwards. There is no charge and no obligation.
Cash, check, zelle, and credit cards.
Yes. We provide a workmanship warranty on every project, with the specific terms spelled out in your written proposal before the work begins.
If your project needs major plumbing or electrical work, Kevin will tell you so and recommend you bring in a licensed plumber or electrician. He is not licensed for that work and he is not going to pretend otherwise. You will hear that at the estimate, not halfway through the job.
Yes, Lumber Lunatics is insured on every project.
Scheduling varies based on the scope of your project and our current workload. We will provide our current availability when we discuss your project.
