Cabinet Repair and Refacing in Monticello, FL
Doors, drawers, hinges and boxes repaired, or refaced when the layout is worth keeping.
Cabinet Repair and Refacing in a Monticello home that predates it
Many kitchens in the older homes around Monticello were fitted long after the home was built, into rooms that are rarely square. That is worth knowing before you replace one, because a new run has to be scribed to those same walls all over again. Where the boxes are still solid, new doors, drawer fronts and hardware give you the change you are after without paying to redo the fitting.
Monticello is the seat of Jefferson County, and the homes here are among the oldest anywhere we work. That age is why Kevin measures and builds to the real room, so an update fits and lasts.
Not every kitchen needs new cabinets. If the boxes are solid and the layout works, refacing gives you a new-looking kitchen for a fraction of a replacement, with new doors and drawer fronts, new veneer on the boxes and new hardware. Where something is broken rather than dated we repair it instead. That might be drawer boxes that have come apart, doors that will not sit flush, worn slides and hinges, or a run cut down and rebuilt to take a new appliance.
What Cabinet Repair and Refacing Typically Involves

Lumber Lunatics did a great job repairing our cabinets. We had an upper cabinet that was pulling away from the wall and beginning to tilt, and I was worried it might eventually come down. They fixed the problem and did a very thorough job.

They installed our new oven and microwave which required some cabinetry work, including adding a drawer.

Cabinet Repair and Refacing in Monticello Questions
Can my cabinets be refaced instead of replaced?
Often, yes. A lot of homes have cabinet boxes that are still perfectly sound behind doors that look forty years old, and that is the ideal refacing job rather than a teardown.
Can you modify a cabinet to fit a new appliance?
Yes. Cutting a cabinet down to take a new oven, or adding a drawer where there was a fixed panel, is common work, and it is a lot cheaper than replacing the run.
Are the older Monticello homes different to work on?
A little, yes. A home this age has usually settled over the years, so the rooms are rarely perfectly square, and Kevin builds to the room as it actually is rather than to a standard it never had. Most people are updating the space for how they live now, and where you want to keep an original detail, we take the time to work with it. He measures before anything is cut.
Do you come out to Monticello?
Yes, regularly. Monticello is a straight run east of Tallahassee and well inside our normal range, so getting out here is rarely an issue.

Most cabinet repair and refacing jobs in Monticello start the same way. Amanda comes back to you within 24 hours and books a time that suits you, and the detailed estimate follows once Kevin has seen it.
