Bathroom Renovations in a Monticello home that predates it
In the older homes around Monticello, the bathroom was usually fitted into space that used to be something else. Updating it starts with what the original build will allow, because behind the finish there is often lath and plaster, which limits what can change. Kevin works that out before anyone picks a tile, so the bathroom you plan is one the home can actually give you.
Monticello is the seat of Jefferson County, and the homes here are among the oldest anywhere we work. That age is why Kevin measures and builds to the real room, so an update fits and lasts.
Bathroom carpentry and finish work, including shower and tub surrounds, tile, vanities, built-in shelving, accent walls, and the trim that ties it together. A bathroom is a small space that gets looked at closely, so the details matter, a vanity needs to sit level and the tile needs a flat, true surface underneath it. We can fit a vanity you have bought or build one to the wall, set the niche and the bench before the tile goes in rather than cutting them in afterwards, and case the door and window to match the rest of your home. If your bathroom needs plumbing or electrical work, Kevin will tell you at the estimate and point you to a licensed plumber or electrician.

Bathroom Renovations in Monticello Questions
Do you handle the plumbing in a bathroom remodel?
No. Kevin does the vanity, tile, shower and tub surrounds, storage and trim. If a fixture is moving or a new circuit is needed, that needs a licensed plumber or electrician, and he tells you which at the estimate.
Can you build a tiled shower or tub surround?
Yes. Tiled shower surrounds, niches and benches, and tub surrounds are carpentry and tile work Kevin does. The plumbing behind the valve is the part that goes to a licensed plumber.
Are the older Monticello homes different to work on?
A little, yes. A home this age has usually settled over the years, so the rooms are rarely perfectly square, and Kevin builds to the room as it actually is rather than to a standard it never had. Most people are updating the space for how they live now, and where you want to keep an original detail, we take the time to work with it. He measures before anything is cut.
Do you come out to Monticello?
Yes, regularly. Monticello is a straight run east of Tallahassee and well inside our normal range, so getting out here is rarely an issue.
How fast can you get to Monticello for bathroom renovations?
Most bathroom renovations jobs in Monticello start the same way. Amanda comes back to you within 24 hours and books a time that suits you, and the detailed estimate follows once Kevin has seen it.
