Home Renovations for a grand older Quincy home
A renovation on one of Quincy's grander older homes is about bringing it up to how you live now while keeping the character you want to hold onto. Because these homes were built at a generous scale, there is often more room to work with than the current layout uses. Kevin points out the likely surprises before the work starts, since a home this age rarely holds exactly what you expect behind the finish.
Quincy is the seat of Gadsden County, known for how much of its old-town character has stayed intact. For us that means a lot of grand older homes where an update has to fit the home it is going into.
Lumber Lunatics takes on renovation projects across Tallahassee and the surrounding Big Bend, from a single room to improvements throughout the home.

Home Renovations in Quincy Questions
What does a renovation with Lumber Lunatics cover?
The carpentry side of it, inside the home and out. Inside, that is cabinetry, trim, doors, built-ins, sheetrock and finish work. Outside, it is decks, fences and gates, pergolas, Hardie siding, exterior doors, railings and steps. Kevin does the woodwork himself. Plumbing and electrical go to a licensed plumber or electrician, and he tells you which parts those are before you plan around us.
Do you take on a whole room at once?
Yes, the carpentry and finish of it. Kevin prices it after he has seen the space, works with you on what it should become, and is the one on site doing the work rather than handing it to a rotating crew.
Do you work on the grand older homes around Quincy?
Yes, they are a lot of our work here. What people want varies. Some want a room updated to feel current, and others want to keep the older character and simply make it work better. Kevin builds to the room as it has settled and follows your lead on how much of the original to carry through.
Does work on an older Quincy home cost more?
It can take longer, so it can cost more, and we say that in the estimate rather than discovering it halfway through. On a home this age the work is rarely standard and cannot be rushed, so the estimate reflects the real time it takes.
How fast can you get to Quincy for home renovations?
