Fences and Gates for an older Quincy home under the oaks
Fencing an older Quincy home is a curb-appeal decision before it is a carpentry one, because what stands in front of a home on these streets gets noticed. Out front you want it to suit the home, whether that means something in keeping with the street or a cleaner, more current line. Behind the home a plainer run does the job, and the gate is usually what needs attention first, because it carries all the movement.
Along Quincy's older streets, grand homes and Southern cottages sit under moss-draped oaks and magnolias. That shade is harder on exterior wood than direct sun, so we take it into account when we work outside the home.
We build and repair wood fencing, including the gates that usually fail first. That covers new privacy fence, replacing sections that have rotted or leaned, and building wide rolling gates for driveways and side yards.
What Fences and Gates Typically Involve

Fences and Gates in Quincy Questions
What takes a fence down fastest around here?
Root heave under the posts and constant damp where the wood meets the ground. Kevin sets and anchors the posts for the conditions, because the posts are what fail first, not the panels.
Can you repair part of a fence instead of the whole line?
Yes. If the panels are sound and it is the gate or a run of posts that has gone, Kevin replaces what has actually failed rather than quoting a whole new fence by default.
Do you do outdoor work at the grand older homes around Quincy?
Yes, and at the cottages alongside them. Whether the goal is more time outdoors, more privacy or siding that needs less upkeep, the work is built to suit the home it goes with. Kevin and Lil Kevin do it themselves, so you will know who is working at your home.
Does work on an older Quincy home cost more?
It can take longer, so it can cost more, and we say that in the estimate rather than discovering it halfway through. On a home this age the work is rarely standard and cannot be rushed, so the estimate reflects the real time it takes.
